Senior Jack Clarkson locked up the individual championship to steer the No. 7 Owls to the team title of their own WWU Fall Invitational on Monday at Tanglewood Golf Course.

On the women's side, senior Megan Cullen secured individual honors in helping the No. 14 Lady Owls complete a sweep of the team championships.

The tournament was changed to a one-day, 36-hole event due to inclement weather scheduled Tuesday.

Clarkson — who hit his first-ever hole-in-one on the 16th hole at Tanglewood — produced a 6-under par 138 (68-70) as the William Woods men's Green team posted a 9-under 567 total (285-282). The Owls edged second-place Columbia College by one shot.

Freshman Tom North tied for second for the Green team with a 5-under 139 (70-69), while junior Tyler Fieser took seventh place with a 1-under 143 (73-70). Senior Will Rushworth tied for 14th with a 147 (74-73) and junior James Rogers tied for 19th with a 149 (75-74).

Cullen delivered a 3-under 141 (67-74) as the William Woods women accumulated a 16-over 592 total (292-300). The Lady Owls easily pulled away from second-place Columbia College, which came in 49 shots back.

Senior Katie Warren took second for William Woods with a 147 (74-73) and senior Fumika Matsumoto was third with a 152 (76-76). Senior Nikki Callahan was next in fourth place with a 153 (76-77) and sophomore Lucy Matthews finished sixth with a 154 (75-79).

The Lady Owls begin play Monday in the Arkansas State Invitational in Jonesboro. The Owls also open play Monday in the NAIA Preview at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
