Women's Basketball: Columbia College 74, William Woods 57

The WWU Lady Owls fell to the No. 12 Columbia College Lady Cougars in an American Midwest Conference makeup game at Anderson Arena on Monday.

The two teams were originally scheduled to play each other on Saturday, but the games were postponed due to weather.

William Woods University (11-6, 8-4 AMC) led 20-19 after the first quarter, but Columbia College (15-3, 9-3) outscored the Lady Owls 19-14 in the second period to take a 38-34 halftime advantage. The Lady Cougars outscored the Lady Owls 15-7 in the third quarter to extend their lead to 53-41.

Junior guard Jasmine Brown went 7-of-8 from the free-throw line to direct the Lady Owls - who shot 44 percent (21-of-48) from the field - with a game-high 21 points. Freshman guard Peyton Greenlee came up with 12 points and pulled down a team-high six rebounds.

Ashlee Marlatt led the Lady Cougars with 19 points, while Raegan Wieser tallied 17 and Hannah Sutton came up with 14. Columbia College made nine 3-pointers as they went 43 percent (27-of-63) from the field. Wieser and Morgan Brandt brought down a game-high eight rebounds apiece to help the Lady Cougars take a 36-29 edge on the boards.

The Lady Owls host an AMC game against No. 9 Lyon College at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Anderson Arena.
