College Softball: Miller wins both games of DH

GODFREY, Ill. - East Central College freshman Ashley Miller threw a one-hitter in game one of last Wednesday's doubleheader, then pitched two scoreless innings of relief in game two of the Falcons' sweep against Lewis & Clark Community College.

Miller (South Callaway High School) gave up two unearned runs and allowed the one hit in five innings in the first contest, an 11-2 win. Then she pitched the final two innings of game two, striking out three and allowing just one hit in East Central's 6-5 come-from-behind victory.

In 13 pitching appearances this season, Miller has a 6-3 record with a 3.03 ERA, adding 19 strikeouts in 60 innings pitched. At the plate, she is batting .206 (25-for-96) with 14 RBI and 10 runs scored.

East Central (21-19) plays today at Cottey College.
