Women's Soccer: William Woods 2, Williams Baptist (Ark.) 0

The WWU Lady Owls ended their five-game losing streak after winning an American Midwest Conference game against the Williams Baptist Lady Eagles at Firley Field on Saturday.

William Woods (2-6-1, 1-3 AMC) scored its first goal in the 10th minute when sophomore defender Shelby Scanlan was assisted by sophomore defender Kailyn Graham. Scanlan scored another goal in the 19th minute after she was assisted by junior defender Alex Langford and junior midfielder Elyssa Cappaert.

The Lady Owls recorded 31 shots - 19 on goal - and eight corner kicks. Sophomore goalkeeper Rebecca Sturgess had two saves.

William Woods plays an AMC game at Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University at 5 p.m. Thursday.
