CANTON, Mo. - The WWU Lady Owls, despite being outshot 11-6, played to a scoreless, double-overtime tie with the Lady Wildcats in Tuesday night's season opener.
Sophomore goalkeeper Rebecca Sturgess posted six saves for William Woods University, which had just two shots on goal. Culver-Stockton College owned a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Lady Owls travel to Missouri Valley College at 7 p.m. Saturday.
