WILLIAMSBURG - Adela Falk has announced her Republican candidacy for the 43rd District in the Missouri House of Representatives.

The 43rd House District covers all of Audrain County and portions of northern and eastern Callaway County. The seat is currently occupied by Rep. Jay Houghton, a Republican who has reached eight years of service and is term limited this year.

Falk is a resident of the 43rd District. She was raised in Hawaii and California, and is a graduate of Santana High School, She attended Grossmont Community College and San Diego State University.

Falk said she was inspired to run to help secure basic Constitutional rights which all Missourians enjoy.

Falk said she is a strong supporter of the Constitution. She stands firm with the Second Amendment and won't support regulation or victim disarmament.

"I want to protect our basic liberties, to create jobs and economic growth, to ensure our children have the tools they need to succeed, to protect the right to life, and create renewable clean energy," she said.

Falk also said she is running because she wants to persevere the district's rich tradition of family, agriculture and farming.

"Agriculture is so critical to District 43's rural economy, and as a small farmer, I have experience and willingness and am open to learning new ideas about agriculture. Education is also vital for our community to thrive, and because of my prior teaching job, I have the experience to work with our educational facilities to ensure our children will succeed. I want to bring a fresh outlook and new solutions to old problems. Jay Houghton and Steve Hobbs did an excellent job inside the district and throughout Missouri. I want to continue that tradition of leadership at the Capitol," Falk said.

After working for judicial reform for nearly 10 years, Falk said she has decided to take her activism to the next level. With Missouri prisons operating at 105 percent capacity and costing tax payers roughly $60 a day per inmate, She believes solutions to these issues can be found.

Falk and her fiance, Aaron Wisdom, live on a farm in south Williamsburg in Callaway County. Wisdom is a self-employed carpenter working throughout Callaway and Audrain counties. For more information, visit adelafalk.com.
