City: Dragon Kitchen to open soon after closing due to poor health inspection report

Fulton restaurant Dragon Kitchen should be open again for business soon, City Planning and Protective Services Director Les Hudson said Monday. The Chinese restaurant, located on Bluff Street, closed after it received poor marks on a Fulton health inspection last week.

"There were some issues there that needed addressing, so the place has been closed and they are addressing those issues. Then they will reopen," Hudson said. "We were there this morning and they aren't too far away (from opening again)."

The inspection report notes multiple violations, including:

•Seafood left out on prep table overnight;

•Dirty sink drains;

•Mold on doors of prep cooler;

•Chemicals not stored properly, next to food products;

•Dirt accumulation throughout kitchen and food preparation area;

•Blood-like substance in tote under table;

•Mold growing on ceiling tile in food preparation area;

•Broken floor tile;

•Disorganized storage area, food stored on floor;

•Carpet dirty in dining area; and

•Molded cabbage left on shelf.

Hudson told the Fulton Sun that he was at the restaurant Monday morning and believes they are close to where they need to be to open again. He said he thinks it will be just a matter of days, depending on how fast the restaurant finishes its work. Dragon Kitchen's list of renovations includes painting and replacing the carpeting, Hudson said.
