Hornets sophomore Jacob Hammerstone shot a 13-over-par-83 at the Class 3, District 4 tournament at Elk Creek Golf Course on Monday.
Hammerstone - a first-year player for Fulton - finished in a four-way tie for 16th place and earned a spot in next Monday's sectional at Heritage Hills Golf Course in Moberly.
"He played extremely well and handled himself well and had a good front nine and held it together in the second nine," Hornets head coach Pat Kelley said. "...He kept it on the fairways, hit on his short game and moved on to the next round."
The Hornets, as a team, finished in eighth place with a team score of 374. North Central Missouri Conference foe Hannibal won the overall team title with score of 301. Brett Windson of Boonville claimed the individual crown with a 2-over-par-72.
Senior Jack Brady scored a 24-over-par-94 to finish in 31st play while junior Matt Henry closed out the Fulton scorers at 29-over-par-99 to come in 39th place.
