Fulton man arrested Friday after chase late Wednesday

A Fulton man who led police on a high-speed chase Wednesday night before escaping on foot was arrested Friday afternoon, police said.

Travis M. Schroer, 31, was arrested in a Fulton home Friday after police had been looking for another suspect on unrelated charges in that area. Maj. Roger Rice with the FPD said Schroer was wanted after officers attempted to pull him over for a routine traffic stop around 9 p.m. Wednesday.

"Schroer did have a Callaway County parole absconder warrant," Rice said. "When they got behind him, he panicked and he took off."

The chase led officers down Bartley Lane, where Schroer, driving a friend's Dodge four-wheel-drive pickup truck, came to a dead end. Schroer and two passengers left the truck and fled on foot into the vicinity of Route Z and County Road 108.

Rice said Schroer was eventually found Friday afternoon in a Fulton residence while police were serving a search for another suspect they declined to identify.
