Four men injured in pickup accidents

Four men were injured seriously in two recent one-vehicle pickup truck accidents in Callaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Gregory L. Kirchhofer, 44, Columbia, sustained serious injuries when he fell asleep, causing the pickup truck he was driving to run off the roadway into a wooded area about seven miles east of Kingdom City.

The accident occurred at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday on I-70, about .7 mile east of Route A in Callaway County.

Kirchhofer's westbound 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer sport utility vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, plunged down an embankment, ran across an outer road and came to rest in a wooded area.
