As weather services began broadcasting an additional three to four inches of snow for Callaway County, Fulton City Engineer Greg Hayes said that street crews have wasted little time to prepare.
The rain and snow meteorologists predicted fro Monday night and Tuesday follow several inches that fell across Missouri Thursday, causing Gov. Jay Nixon to declare a state of Missouri.
Hayes said that one of Fulton's two 12-man crews were on call tonight, ready to come in and begin plowing the roads when they became slick. Though some crews were still clearing roads in Fulton Monday, the city opted not to do any more major plowing as it would push snow further into peoples' driveways.
"A lot of folks can barely get out of their driveways as it is," said Hayes. "We're not going to push any more, it would just block everybody in."
