Callaway 2 water customers under boil advisory

Following a water main break Wednesday morning east of Fulton, the Callaway 2 Water District has issued a voluntary boil advisory for 48 hours.

The following areas were affected by the break:

•Huey Place

•County Road 108 (west of Crow's Fork Creek)

•County Road 106

•Craighead Road

•County Road 101

•Greystone Drive

•Smart Lane

•State Road UU (west of Crow's Fork Creek)

•County Road 104

•State Road O (west of Crow's Fork Creek)

•Shady Hills Lane

•County Road 103

•County Road 477

•County Road 419 (north of Stinson Creek)

The advisory takes affect at the moment pressure is restored to home lines. During this time, customers may experience low or no water pressure and discolored water. The discoloration is caused by iron deposits that are stirred up by flushing and trapped air in mains.

Residents should boil water for three minutes before consumption. Infants, the elderly and people with compromised immune systems may be at increased risk. The water district also advises caution when washing clothes during this time, as the discoloration can stain or ruin clothing.
