Davidson will replace Mrs. Susan Dockery, who resigned the position to become the junior high school principal at Lexington R-5 School District in Lexington, Mo., which is in Lafayette County near Kansas City.

New Bloomfield R-3 District Superintendent David Tramel said the district will miss Dockery. "She is an effective school administrator and she just finished her doctorate degree," Tramel said.

Dockery will continue to serve as the junior high school and high school principal at New Bloomfield during the remainder of the current school year.

Davidson said he and his family are excited to be able to return to Mid-Missouri.

"I grew up in Moberly. My wife and kids are thrilled to be in this area so they can see their grandparents in Moberly more often. My brother also lives in Moberly and my brother-in-law lives in Columbia," Davidson said.

Davidson said he is pleased to be able to work in a small community like New Bloomfield. He said in New Bloomfield it is easier for students to make the transition from grade school to high school.

"I'm also a big baseball fan and New Bloomfield has a long tradition of a strong baseball program. New Bloomfield also is in a small community located near larger cities such as Jefferson City and Columbia," Davidson said.

Davidson was the high school principal at the Dunklin R-5 School District in Herculaneum, which is in Jefferson County near St. Louis.
