Two weeks ago, the North Callaway Thunderbirds and Fulton Hornets couldn't have entered the 2012 season on more opposite sides of the spectrum.
North Callaway, ranked No. 8 in the Class 2 preseason poll, returned eight starters on both sides of the ball from a team that started 1-4 in 2011 and won seven straight in going 8-5 and making it to the Class 3 quarterfinals.
Fulton finished 2-8 last season, 1-9 in 2010 and fields a squad in 2012 that, at best, has a lot of unknowns.
Tonight, the two squads -Â separated by just seven miles -Â are one and the same at this early stage of the season. The winless Thunderbirds and Hornets kick off at 7 tonight in Kingdom City.
