Nine injured in Callaway County accidents

Nine people were injured in recent Callaway County accidents.

On Monday Christina E. Floyd, 30, had serious injuries when her car ran off Route F in Callaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Floyd was eastbound at 2:30 p.m. Monday on Route F just west of Route KK when her 2001 Jeep Cherokee failed to negotiate a turn, overturned and came to rest on its top.

With serious injuries, Floyd was transported by Callaway County Ambulance Service to University Hospital in Columbia.

Floyd was wearing a seat belt and her vehicle was demolished, the patrol reported.

On Saturday three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 54 about 29 feet west of the north outer road in Callaway County.

The patrol reported a westbound 1996 Ford F350 pickup truck driven by Robert D. Painter, 30, Kingdom City, collided with a westbound 2010 Jeep Wrangler driven by Angelia M. Smith, 38, Mexico. Smith's vehicle overturned after it was hit in the rear.

Painter had moderate injuries and Smith had minor injuries. A passenger in Smith's vehicle, her husband Eric D. Smith, 41, had serious injuries and was transported by the Staff for Life helicopter to University Hospital. Both drivers were transported by Callaway County Ambulance Service to University Hospital. Smith had minor injuries and Painter had moderate injuries.
