MOKANE - South Callaway head football coach Tim Rulo's practices are tightly-scripted, detail-heavy marathons that normally approach three hours - sometimes longer - and are lean on leisure time.
Rulo's objective when it comes to the extended practices is not only the bulk of the Bulldogs' work but the caliber of their collective effort.
"Our goal is to get as many quality reps as possible," Rulo said Wednesday night. "Because we feel that everybody practices about the same amount of time, and so the only way you're going to be better is by getting more reps than them.
"... Because if you don't, in theory, how are you going to do well on Fridays? We don't leave it to chance. The way we've always figured is, "If our opponents are getting 30 reps during their team time in practice, we better get 35.'"
