Two injured in Callaway accidents

Two people were injured in recent accidents in Callaway County.

On Saturday Timothy Anderson, 50, New Bloomfield, was injured when his vehicle rolled over several times in Callaway County.

Jefferson City Police reported the accident occurred at 11:46 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 54 in Callaway County when a 1993 Cadillac DeVille driven by Glenn Smithson, 36, Jefferson City, was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic.

Police reported Smithson's vehicle hit Anderson's westbound 2006 Chevrolet 1500 pickup in the rear. The impact of the collision caused Anderson's pickup to skid off the highway to the right in the 1600 block of U.S. 54. Anderson's vehicle rolled over several times and came to rest 150 feet off the highway.

Police reported Anderson had to be extricated from his vehicle and was transported by ambulance to St. Mary's Medical Center in Jefferson City.
