Two arrested on drug charges

Sheriff's office investigates construction thefts

Three suspects are facing drug charges after a disturbance call early Friday morning.

According to a press release, the Fulton Police Department responded to west Sixth Street for a report of a peace disturbance at 4:29 a.m. Upon arrival, the release states, "an officer observed drug activity inside the residence."

A search warrant was obtained, and officers found marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.

Mitchell M. Schaeffer, 21, of Fulton, was arrested for possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Callaway County Jail on $1,000 bond.

Kyle Coggins, 20, of Columbia, was arrested for felony tampering with evidence, possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Callaway County Jail on $4,500 bond.

Kody D. Standridge was issued a citation for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

In other crime-related news, the Callaway County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of four portable "BUMP" signs and easels from a construction site on State Road D and State Road K where the Missouri Department of Transportation was replacing culverts in the area.
