Rotary recognizes Deputy Karhoff with award

Several law enforcement officers joined Rotary Club members Wednesday in honoring the 2011 recipient of the George W. Law Award.

Callaway County Sheriff's Office Deputy Jackie Karhoff received the award, which is given out annually by the club to honor county officers who go above and beyond the call of duty.

Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney Chris Wilson nominated Karhoff for the award. In Wilson's statement - read Wednesday by Associate Circuit Judge Robert Sterner during the club's ceremony - he said Karhoff "displayed incredible bravery" during the homicide investigations that occurred in October of 2010.
