Choice to teach children at home fits for some area families

Home-school families say family bonding is an important part of educating children at home. Instead of boarding a bus in the early morning hours to spend the bulk of her day in a classroom, Lydia Mason simply has to walk into another room to do her studies. Lydia, 10, is a home-schooler. Her parents, Matthew and Marla Mason of Williamsburg, educate her and her three siblings with a Christian-based curriculum in the comfort of their own home.
