Westminster secured the school's first ever St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship with a win over Blackburn College on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Blue Jays (16-5, 13-0 SLIAC) won for a school record 11th straight game and tied a record for most wins ever in a season.
Freshman guard Leigh Ann Lutz had a career night with 28 points to lead all scorers. Sophomore guard Kenna Cornelson added 13 points for Westminster, who clinched the No. 1 seed in the SLIAC post-season tournament, which will be played at Westminster Gym starting February 24.
Webster University comes to town for conference action on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

CARLINVILLE, Ill., - The Blue Jays shot 67 percent from the field in blowing out Blackburn College on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Blue Jays (13-9, 10-3 SLIAC) remained in third place and kept their conference title hopes alive.
Four players reached double figures, led by a 22 point outing from senior forward Jake Vislay. Freshman guard Joe James added 17 points, sophomore guard Skylar Tolson had 16 points and senior forward Justin Gilmore added 10 points for Westminster, who connected on 18 of 27 3-pointers.
The Blue Jays host SLIAC-leading Webster on Wednesday starting at 8 p.m.

HENDERSON, Tenn., - The Owls dropped a second straight game with a loss to Culver Stockton on Monday morning. The loss dropped the Owls to 1-3 on the season.
William Woods is coming off a season-opening series loss to Christian Brothers University this past weekend. The Owls dropped the opener of a doubleheader on Saturday by a score of 13-3 after giving up five runs in the third and losing in eight innings. William Woods took the second game 7-4 on the strength of a three run-7th inning.
They dropped the finale 5-2 on Sunday, with Chistian Brothers scoring all five of their runs in the 7th. The Owls host Ashford University in double header action starting Saturday at 1 p.m.

LADDONIA - The Bulldogs won for a fourth straight game against Community on Saturday afternoon. It was South Callaway's eight win in it's last nine, helping them improve to 12-8 overall.
Senior guard Will Brandt entered the game averaging 19 points per contest but only had six points on the day. Senior forward Bryan Lechner led the way with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting.
"It's a lot of pressure to put on someone (Brandt) to come out and score 20 a night for us to win," South Callaway coach Tony Brandt said. "This game showed that we have some other players with the ability to knock down some shots and give us more balanced scoring."
South Callaway plays again tonight at Harrisburg starting at 6 p.m.

MOBERLY - The Lady Hornets dropped a North Central Missouri Conference game to the Moberly Spartans on Monday evening. Fulton was down by double digits for most of the game as they dropped to 7-11 on the season and 5-7 in conference.
Junior forward Corri Hamilton led all scores with 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as she was the only Lady Hornet in double figures. Moberly, ranked No. 7 in Class 4, got 12 points from LaTicia Allen, Tierney Seisert and Shelby Sutherland.
Fulton's Lanisha Piggee led the Lady Hornets junior varsity team with 13 points in the team's 48-18 loss to Moberly on Monday evening. The varsity girls will take on North Callaway Wednesday starting at 6 p.m.

KINGDOM CITY - The Ladybirds couldn't overcome a game-high 28 points from Eldon's Kelsi Mueller in Monday night's home loss. Eldon had quarters of 12, 12, 14 and 18 points while North Callaway strung together nine, eight, nine and 11. Eldon's Megan Humphrey was the only other player for either side in double figures with 16 points.
Freshman guard Jaida Gray led the Ladybirds with seven points. Eldon also won the junior varsity game by a score of 32-31 on Monday. North Callaway (3-9) led 28-27 with 2:40 left but they could not hold off Eldon (7-11). Tara Oberlag led all players with 17 points while Kelsey Coil added 12 points.
Junior varsity will next play at Hallsville on Thursday at 6 p.m. while the varsity girls host Fulton Wednesday night at 6 p.m.

MEXICO - The host Mexico Bulldogs improved to 13-1 with a win over North Callaway on Saturday in the opening game of the Mexico Tournament. After being down 16 points late in the third quarter, the T-Birds trailed by only a point with just two minutes left before not being able to take over the lead. Freshman guards Jacob Haubner and Justin Menard each had 10 points while Mexico's Matt Ridgeway had 17.
The T-Birds dropped the consolation game to the Boonville Pirates on Saturday. Freshman forward Vance Allen led North Callaway with 11 points as they let a 26-22 halftime lead slip through their fingers. The T-Birds play again Friday at Hallsville starting at 6 p.m.
