Work is underway in preparation for a special work exhibit that will come to the county in February.

The National Churchill Museum will host a Smithsonian Institution exhibition entitled "The Way We Worked" - the first Smithsonian exhibit to come to the museum.

The museum has collaborated with area institutions such as the Kingdom of Callaway Chamber of Commerce, the Fulton Area Development Corporation, the Kingdom of Callaway Historical Society, local unions and the City of Fulton to bring a unique aspect to the exhibit.

The main exhibit explores the history of the American workforce over the past 150 years, but an additional part of the display will feature a local component. The historical society is putting together the local part - The Kingdom at Work - which will focus on work through the ages, specifically in Callaway County. The exhibit kicks off Feb. 11 and will run until March 11. It will be free and open to all.

In combination with the opening of the museum exhibit, the chamber is presenting a Callaway County Business Showcase. The showcase - happening from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 25 in the Mueller Student Center at Westminster College - will have booths from local businesses that people can visit. Any county business interested in being a part of the showcase can contact the chamber.
