Fulton man charged, held on bond

On Tuesday, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged a Fulton man with multiple felony offenses.

Joseph Garrett, 31, was charged with the felony offenses of unlawful use of a weapon, domestic assault, possession of a controlled substance (meth), and tampering with a victim. Garrett is currently being held in the Callaway County Jail on $25,000 bond.

The charges are the result of a weapons investigation conducted by Callaway County deputies April 15 near Carrington. Deputies subsequently located Garrett on County Road 326 near Carrington and arrested him. At the time of Garrett's arrest, he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

911 misuse arrest

On Wednesday, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Wayne Brondel, 53, of Auxvasse, with the criminal offense of misusing 911.

The charge is the result of an investigation conducted by Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputies during the early morning hours of April 16 in the 6000 block of County Road 260 near Auxvasse. In a period just more than five hours, 16 separate 911 calls were received from the suspect residence. Deputies attempted to contact Brondel at the residence during the initial 911 responses, however, he refused to exit the residence and chastised deputies. Later in the day, deputies returned to the residence and arrested Brondel without incident.

Brondel was transported to the Callaway County Jail, booked/processed, and later released after posting a $3,000 bond.
