Fire truck crashes into unoccupied Kansas City school

KANSAS CITY (AP) — Authorities said a fire truck has crashed into an unoccupied Kansas City charter school after colliding with another vehicle.

The Kansas City Star reported the collision happened Sunday when a Cadillac turned into the path of the ladder truck. The fire truck then careened into the front of the Academy for Integrated Arts. The Cadillac also hit another car.

Police said two people in the Cadillac were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A driver in the other car had minor injuries. None of the four firefighters on the truck were injured.

On Sunday, workers inside the school cleaned up the damage the crash had left behind. The school held classes Monday.
