NEW BLOOMFIELD - A Kansas City man running from the law was apprehended and arrested Thursday near New Bloomfield, according to Callaway County Sheriff Clay Chism.
Christopher Pratt, 19, was located at 6:04 a.m. by a Callaway County deputy responding to a suspicious person reported in the area of County Road 373 and Route MM, west of New Bloomfield.
Upon further investigation, the deputy determined Pratt was a wanted fugitive in Independence for the Class B felony offense of first-degree assault. He was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail.
Later on Thursday, authorities from the Kansas City area responded to Callaway County and took custody of Pratt.
