Deputies arrest wanted man in crawl space

A Columbia man was arrested Sunday evening after Callaway sheriff's deputies found him hiding in a crawl space.

Robert Gibson, 42, had been wanted in Callaway County when deputies responded to a residence in the 1500 block of County Road 276, in Stephens, for a possible disturbance. They also had information that Gibson was possibly at the residence.

During the course of the disturbance investigation, deputies conducted a search and found Gibson hiding in a residential crawl space. Deputies further determined that Gibson possessed methamphetamine inside the residence.

Gibson was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail. He was booked/processed for felony possession of a controlled substance in addition to a Callaway County warrant for a past drug-related charge. Gibson was at the Callaway County Jail pending a court-set bond of $4,800.
