Thanks to a lead donation by the Ameren Corporation Charitable Trust, a fund established in 1944 to serve as Ameren Missouri's investment stream in a variety of community projects, the YMCA of Callaway County is excited to move into fundraising in 2018.
Fadi Diya, chief nuclear officer and senior vice president of Ameren Missouri, said, "We are pleased to be a part of this major expansion project at the YMCA and are greatly appreciative that the Ameren Corporation values and invests in the communities where our co-workers live and work."
Sara McDaniel, CEO of the YMCA of Callaway County, said they are proud to partner with Ameren Missouri in an effort to enhance the lives of our neighbors in Callaway County and members of the YMCA.
"We appreciate Ameren Missouri's leadership with the YMCA of Callaway County Capital Campaign. Our YMCA board of directors and staff appreciate the partnerships throughout the community."
YMCA officials said they want to continue developing the organization as a cornerstone of health and community for Callaway County. Plans are in the works for an expansion.
"At the Y, we focus on giving back and providing support to our neighbors with our doors open to all, we work every day to bridge the gaps that divide people in our communities and to bring our cause to the people and neighborhoods that need us most," a press release stated. "With our members, volunteers, staff and partners, we work to inspire a spirit of service in everyone we touch. From children to seniors, we help people embrace their responsibility to their communities."
The YMCA has been in Callaway County for more than 25 years and serves about 3,000 individuals annually working to strengthen the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
