Chamber plans important events

The Callaway County Chamber of Commerce will have its first 2018 Business Breakfast, hosted by Westminster College, at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The breakfast at Mueller Leadership Hall will include special guest U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer, R-Mo. People can register to attend (deadline is Monday) at www.callwaychamber.net, [email protected] or by calling the Chamber office. Cost to attend is $5 per person. Make sure to bring your business cards to this networking event.

Registration has begun for the 2018 Business EXPO/Job Fair that will be March 16 at the Fulton Events Center. Commitment forms can be obtained by emailing Tina Wade at [email protected]. This event will be open to the public.

Next week, the chamber will have two Lunch and Learn events at the Chamber. At 11 a.m. Thursday, H&R Block representatives will present "Tax Talk for Business" and they will provide free lunch to all participants. At noon Feb. 23, Ken Chapman, Reentry Coordinator for the Missouri Department of Corrections, will discuss 36 vocational training programs offered to felons at the Department of Corrections and what they are doing to prepare ex-felons to reenter the workforce.
