HOLTS SUMMIT - A Columbia man was arrested Saturday following a car chase, said Lt. Curtis Hall, of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

Michael Garrett, 39, was arrested for driving while suspended, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, Hall said.

At 1:50 p.m. Saturday, a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on LaChar Drive near Holts Summit on the suspicion it was related to an investigation. Hall said the vehicle failed to yield to the deputy's emergency lights and sirens.

Deputies pursued the vehicle on Route AA and various county roadways before the driver, Garrett, was taken into custody on Vast View Drive.

Suspected methamphetamine paraphernalia was found in his possession, Hall added. Garrett was taken to Callaway County Jail, where his bond was set at $1,000. More charges could be added as the investigation continues, Hall said.
