On Saturday, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Amy Steward, 44, with the murder and also felony delivery of a controlled substance. The victim has been identified as David Grant.

Steward was arrested by Callaway County deputies and is being held in the Callaway County Jail without bond. The charge is the result of the homicide investigation started Friday near Holts Summit conducted by the sheriff's office with the assistance of Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad members.

Deputies were called at 1:39 a.m. Friday to the 10700 block of Platinum Drive to conduct the death investigation. Holts Summit Police Department officers also responded.

Upon arriving at 1:50 a.m., deputies and officers entered the residence and found Grant deceased, according to Callaway County Sheriff Clay Chism. Further investigation, including an autopsy conducted by the Boone/Callaway County Medical Examiner's Office, led to classification of the case as a homicide.

Authorities aren't releasing any additional details about the investigation at this time.
