New Bloomfield clerk resigns

NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. - New Bloomfield's city clerk has tendered her resignation, according to City Council documents.

Minutes from an April 5 work session included the announcement.

"City Clerk Cassidi Knierim made it known to the board that she will be leaving employment with the city to seek another position," the minutes stated.

Knierim's letter of resignation states her resignation is effective April 20.

"This was not an easy decision to make," she stated in the letter. "The past two years have been very rewarding and full of personal growth. The city and the people within it will always hold a special piece of my heart and I hope to volunteer in the future when needed."

Her letter does not mention a specific reason for resigning.

Knierim's salary has been brought up by New Bloomfield residents several times during the controversy over the city's 2018 budget. She received a nearly 20 percent raise in 2018, with her salary increasing to $36,051 from $30,246 budgeted in 2017.
