A Holts Summit man was arrested Tuesday morning after a narcotics search warrant was executed, according to Callaway County Sheriff Clay Chism.

Deputies arrested Michael Humphrey, 33, in the incident.

According to Chism, the search warrant was executed at 7:57 a.m. at 879 S. Summit Drive - Lot 55 in Holts Summit. The search warrant had been obtained as the result of a sheriff's office narcotics investigation.

Methamphetamine was located, and Humphrey was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he is being held on a $4,500 bond set by the court.

The Holts Summit Police Department and the Mustang drug task force assisted with the investigation and warrant execution.

"Callaway County deputies continue work with other law enforcement agencies and community partners to curb drug abuse throughout the county, which so many times lead to other offenses such as burglary and stealing," Chism said in a press release. "Citizens are reminded the can report drug related activity to Crimestopper's at 573-592-2474 or online at www.callawaysheriff.org."

The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming.
