Woman arrested following chase

A Fulton woman was arrested Monday after ramming a stolen vehicle into a building, according to Sgt. Bill Ladwig, of the Fulton Police Department.

Jasmine Allen, 31, faces charges of first-degree tampering, fourth-degree assault, first-degree property damage and two counts of first-degree burglary. She also had an outstanding parole absconder warrant from the St. Louis area.

At 10:14 a.m., police arrived in the 5600 block of Hawk Lane Drive to investigate a burglary in progress. The victim reported a woman was attempting to steal a motor vehicle. The victim said the woman fled after driving the vehicle into a shop door, damaging the vehicle and building.

The suspect - later identified by police as Allen - ran to another residence and attempted to force her way inside, Ladwig said. He said Allen assaulted a person inside the residence, who managed to force her back outside.

The original victim managed to photograph the suspect and watched her as she fled toward the back door of another nearby residence. Officers took Allen into the custody after she was hindered by another resident, Ladwig said. Allen was taken to the Callaway County Jail and held without bond.
