Jefferson City customers back online after CenturyLink outage

A Monday outage left some CenturyLink customers in the Jefferson City area without internet access for several hours.

The outage affected primarily business customers, CenturyLink spokeswoman Nancy DeVinay-McNeley told the News Tribune.

Damage to a fiber line by a third party caused the roughly five-hour outage, she said, noting the company still is investigating the incident.

Affected customers' service went offline around 10 a.m. Monday and began working again around 3 p.m.

"We do apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused our customers," DeVinay-McNeley said.
