Ambulance district promotes two

Callaway County Ambulance District officials recently promoted Josh Loyd and Mike Lindsay.

Josh Loyd, a nine-year veteran of the district, was promoted to the district's training officer. Loyd succeeds Kelly Drennan in the position.

Loyd started his career with the district as an EMT before completing paramedic school and advancing to a staff paramedic position. He was later promoted to relief shift supervisor and field training officer. Loyd has a passion for learning and teaching others, making him a natural fit for the position. He will be responsible for training the district's EMTs and paramedics, teaching EMT classes to those wishing to enter into emergency medical services field, coordinating the fire district continuing education programs, coordinating public relations and education and maintaining the district's Public Access Defibrillation Program.

In his spare time, Loyd enjoys scuba diving, often traveling to Mexico to dive its clear blue waters. He and his wife, Christina, reside in Mexico, Missouri.

Mike Lindsay, a 25-year veteran of the district, was promoted to relief shift supervisor to serve on the A-Shift.

Lindsay started his career with the district as an EMT and served in that capacity until completing paramedic school just over a year ago and advancing to a staff paramedic position. He served as a field training officer, working with new employees to ensure their integration into the district was successful. He was recommended for promotion by the district's shift supervisors following a panel interview of three candidates.

Lindsay's years of experience and familiarization with the district's operational policies and procedures make him an excellent fit in this position. He will be responsible for assisting the shift supervisor on a daily basis and will fill in as needed in the absence of a shift supervisor.

In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping. Lindsay and his wife, Darla, reside in Clark.
