In his final season for the Fulton Hornets, Rowdy Gohring made all-district for the first time, one of 10 in the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association's Class 4 District 9 team announced Monday.

Class 4 District 9 champion Tolton's Exavier Wilson won district player of the year, and Trailblazers coach Jeremy Osborne and Boonville's Mark Anderson were named co-coaches of the year.

After playing his first three seasons at Fulton with older brother Walker, Rowdy Gohring took on the team's leadership role this season.

Gohring averaged 17.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 33.5 percent from 3 (made 67 3s), 37.5 percent from the field and 65.6 percent at the free-throw line.

Outside of making all-district as a senior, Gohring earned first-team all-conference this season and second-team all-conference last year.

"I know this was a goal he set for himself at the beginning of the year," Fulton boys basketball coach Justin Gilmore said. "We are very proud of the accomplishments Rowdy had this year. He had a great senior season and a great career at Fulton. Rowdy is extremely hard-working and is constantly in the gym, perfecting his craft. He did not get these postseason accolades by chance; they came from numerous years of dedication to get better and hours and hours of work in the gym.

"Rowdy is a role model for our younger Hornets to look up to be able to see what it takes to be a great player."
