Callaway 2 district issues boil water advisory

Due to a contractor hitting a water main, Callaway 2 Water District in Fulton issued a boil advisory Thursday evening for part of its service area.

The boil advisory will be in effect for 48 hours in an area along State Route O from Route UU to Callaway County Road 419, including County Road 103, Shady Hills, County Road 477 and County Road 419.

Customers in the area are advised to boil water vigorously for three minutes prior to use. Use only boiled water for drinking, brushing teeth, diluting fruit juices and all other food preparations or consumption. Let boiled water cool sufficiently before drinking.

Do not use ice from an icemaker with unboiled water. Disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaces by immersion for at least one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.

Customers can call the district office at 573-642-6898 during working hours, or 1-800-568-4979 after hours, with any questions.
