Man, woman arrested on sexual offender charges

A Holts Summit man and woman were arrested earlier this week on sexual offense-related charges, according to the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

On Feb. 26, the sheriff's department began an investigation of Timothy Durbin, 35, of Holts Summit for failing to register as a sex offender.

Durbin, who is a registered offender with previous sexual offense convictions, was required to verify his registration with the Callaway County Sheriff's Office by Feb. 25, which he failed to do, officials said.

Durbin had last registered as residing with Cheryll Lewis at a Holts Summit residence. As part of the Feb. 26 investigation, Lewis repeatedly told investigators that Durbin was living with her at the residence. But, Durbin could not be located there.

On March 21, Durbin was found in Fulton and subsequently arrested for two Callaway County felony probation violation warrants. He was also charged with failing to register as a sex offender.

When he was arrested, authorities determined he had not been living with Lewis. Authorities arrested Lewis, 63, on Tuesday and charged her with aiding a sexual offender, a felony offense.

Durbin remains in the Callaway County Jail on $10,000 cash bond.

Lewis posted a $4,500 bond and was released from jail pending her court appearance.
