No. 10 Wildcats throttle Bunceton in 102-41 romp

NEW BLOOMFIELD - Sophomore forward Jak Kitchens directed five players in double figures with 22 points Monday night as the state-ranked New Bloomfield Wildcats crushed the Bunceton Dragons 102-41 in non-conference play.

New Bloomfield (19-3) - ranked No. 10 in Class 2 by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association - was only up 21-14 after one quarter, but took control by outscoring Bunceton 25-6 in the second quarter to build a 46-20 halftime lead. The Wildcats carried a commanding 83-29 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Senior guard Grant Nichols followed with 17 points for New Bloomfield, while senior guard Tyler Fennewald provided 12. Senior guard Derek Shikles and freshman guard Jalen Martin added 11 points apiece.

The Wildcats host Show-Me Conference opponent Tuscumbia at 6 tonight.
