Holts Summit man gets probation in thefts

A Holts Summit man was placed on five years supervised probation for pleading guilty to charges in connection with thefts from vehicles last June in Cole County.

Trevor Dusheke, 19, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and second-degree tampering with a motor vehicle.

Eleven theft reports were taken in the 400 block of Kensington Park as well as thefts in the 300 and 400 blocks of Gateway Drive.

In three cases, windows were broken out of vehicles; the rest of the vehicles were unlocked. Among the items taken were a .22 rifle and a 9mm pistol.

An area resident spotted Dusheke going through his truck in the 5100 block of Scruggs Station Road and held him on the ground until deputies arrived.

Dusheke admitted to authorities he was trying to find money for gas.
