Alumni Weekend on tap at William Woods

“All Roads Lead Back to The Woods” this weekend as William Woods University holds its annual Alumni Weekend.

Alumni Weekend will be held Friday through Sunday. Registration will be 3-8 p.m. Friday in Tucker Dining Hall.

A William Woods/Westminster golf tournament at Tanglewood Golf Course will kick off the weekend, beginning at 9 a.m. Friday. A joint WWU/Westminster cocktail reception will be held 5-7 p.m. on the WWU campus.

“Cheaper by the Dozen” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday in Cutlip Auditorium. Ticket prices are $7 for students, faculty and staff; $10 for adults; $6 for seniors, (62+); and $5 for children (6-12).

Saturday brings a full day of events for WWU alumni. The alumni awards ceremony will be held from 10-11 a.m. in Dulany Auditorium. Registration continues at 11 a.m. in Tucker Dining Hall.

“All Roads Lead Back to The Woods” will be a special time of gathering for the graduating classes of 1966, 1976, 1986, 1991, 1996 and 2006. Class reunion photos will be taken at 11:30 a.m. Saturday on the Dulany Auditorium steps.

A buffet luncheon will be offered for $20 per person from 11:30-1 p.m. in Tucker Dining Hall. During the luncheon, Dr. Jahnae H. Barnett will present the “President’s Top 20” update.

Greek residential hall tours will be from 1-3 p.m., and a Paddock Club event will be held from 2-4 p.m. in the United Professional Horseman Association (UPHA) Arena.

Live music and free beer and wine tasting will be available from 3 -5 p.m. in Tucker Dining Hall. Singer/songwriter Scott Porter will perform, sponsored by the Campus Activities Board.

A Wine Sensory class will be offered from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Ivy Room on the lower level of Tucker Dining Hall, presented by the Ilana Archuleta ’13, marketing specialist for Missouri Wine and Grape Board. The $10 fee includes a wine glass.

Matt Dube, associate professor of English, will offer an Alumni Creative Writing Expo from 4-5 p.m. in the Kemper Arts Center.

Sunday, alumni are invited to join students for brunch between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Tucker Dining Hall for $7 per person.

Throughout the weekend, WWU theatre students will be performing “Cheaper by the Dozen.” This production will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday night and at 2 p.m. Saturday in Cutlip Auditorium.

The Senior Art Show will be open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the Mildred Cox Gallery.

Alumni will play current Owls teams Saturday in soccer at 11 a.m. at Firley Field and in volleyball at 2 p.m. in Anderson Arena.
