Lady Hornets volleyball team swept in NCMC loss to Hannibal

The Fulton Lady Hornets volleyball team slipped to 7-7 on the season and 3-2 in the North Central Missouri Conference after Tuesday night's 25-14, 25-15 loss to the Hannibal Lady Pirates at Roger D. Davis Gymnasium.

Senior setter Kenzie Shaw handed out seven assists and senior libero Amanda Allison came up with eight digs for Fulton.

"We had a lot of trouble with resiliency and bouncing back from a few bad plays," Lady Hornets head coach Megan Youse said. "We could never take advantage."

Fulton (4-6) fell in the junior varsity match 25-18 and 25-13. Junior outside hitter Katlyn Jackson posted two aces and two kills, junior setter Colleen Van Norman chipped in with five aces and sophomore libero Kyleigh Davis had 13 digs.

The Lady Hornets (1-5-1) also dropped the freshman match 25-8 and 25-21. Right-side hitter Ashleigh Jackson contributed a dig, an ace and a block, setter Rileigh Huffman tallied a dig and an assist, and outside hitter Leah Speer had an ace.

Fulton travels to NCMC foe Boonville for a 5:30 p.m. tripleheader Thursday.
