Ladybirds volleyball team comes up short in Hallsville loss

KINGDOM CITY - The North Callaway Ladybirds volleyball team battled the Hallsville Lady Indians before finally falling in a 25-23, 25-18 loss Monday night.

Senior outside hitter Bethany Bloss logged three kills for North Callaway (3-10), while sophomore outside hitter Nicole Emmons came up with eight digs. Sophomore setter Allyson Eichman also contributed five assists.

"The girls played tough and didn't give up," Ladybirds head coach Liz Gragnani said. "We definitely made (Hallsville) work for it."

North Callaway (2-9) prevailed in the junior varsity match 11-25, 25-12 and 25-18.

The Ladybirds travel to Wright City for an Eastern Missouri Conference contest at 5 p.m. today.
