No arrests were announced Monday in two alleged armed robberies - believed to be by the same individual - that occurred Saturday night, one in Kingdom City in Callaway County and the other in neighboring Boone County in Columbia.

According to a press release issued Sunday by the Callaway County Sheriff 's office, deputies and investigators responded to a reported armed robbery at the Days Inn in Kingdom City Saturday at 7:40 p.m.

The press release said the suspect, described as a white male, entered the lobby of the Days Inn with a handgun and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

"The suspect was last seen on foot traveling northwest from the hotel," the statement says.

The Kingdom City Days Inn is located, along with several other hotels and convenience stores, on County Road 211 at the intersection of I-70 & US Highway 54. Adjacent to the Days Inn on County Road 211 is a Comfort Inn, and directly across Hwy. 54 is the Kingdom City Super 8. Within a quarter-mile is both an America's Best Inn and Red Carpet Inn, and at least two of the hotels were known to be sold out Saturday, likely due to a home football game at the University of Missouri.

Also located in the direct proximity of the incident are three convenience stores and truck stops, a McDonald's restaurant, and Ozarkland of Kingdom City.

The Callaway Sheriff 's press release also cited a second armed robbery, believed to be the same suspect, at the Eagle Stop convenience store in Columbia on Saturday at 8:45 p.m.

As of late Monday night as the Fulton Sun was preparing for press time, neither the Callaway Sheriff 's Department, nor the Columbia Police Dept. had released a public statement regarding an arrest.

The Kingdom City Days Inn did have an on-site camera installed, and an image was captured of the suspect, which was publicly distributed Sunday.

The Callaway Sheriff's release asks anyone with information about robberies to contact the Callaway County Sheriff 's Office, Columbia Police Department or call Crime Stopper's at (573) 592-2474.
