Lady Hornets volleyball team turns back Osage

OSAGE BEACH - Senior middle hitter Hannah Cerda came up with a team-high seven kills in the Fulton Lady Hornets volleyball team's 25-18, 25-22 victory over the School of the Osage Lady Indians on Thursday night.

Senior outside hitter Maddie Dreste and senior libero Amanda Allison provided nine digs apiece for Fulton (7-5), while sophomore outside hitter Kate Pani had four aces.

"The kids did a nice job of hustling," Lady Hornets head coach Megan Youse said. "Osage threw some crazy stuff back at us, but the girls never gave up and they kept sticking to it on every single play."

Fulton (4-4) lost the junior varsity match 25-17 and 25-19. Junior setter Colleen Van Norman finished with six assists and sophomore right-side hitter Danielle Bezler contributed two kills.

The Lady Hornets (1-4-1) dropped the freshman match 25-8 and 25-8. Middle hitter Ashleigh Jackson tallied three digs.

Fulton returns home for a tripleheader against (Columbia) Battle at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Roger D. Davis Gymnasium.
