FMS seventh-grade volleyball team falls to KCA in opener

The host Fulton Middle School Lady Hornets seventh-grade volleyball team started its season Thursday night with a 25-12, 25-14 loss to the Kingdom Christian Academy Lady Saints.

Kayla Neal logged four aces and Chaylee Saunders contributed three digs for FMS. Rhianna Sweeney recorded two aces for KCA.

The Lady Saints also prevailed in the eighth-grade match 25-19 and 25-19. Alyssa Deuel guided KCA with four aces and Alyse Giboney had three, while Kayanna Gaines finished with two hits.

The Lady Saints host Mexico at the Missouri School for the Deaf at 6 p.m. Monday.

FMS remains at home for a match against California at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
