William Woods cross country teams compete in Memphis meet

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Sophomore Grace Young came in 46th in 19 minutes, 5.02 seconds to guide the William Woods University Lady Owls cross country team at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic on Saturday.

On the men's side, freshman Alex Thompson finished 89th for William Woods University in 21:51.76.

The field for the meet was dominated by NCAA Division I schools, including Alabama, Memphis and Mississippi State.

Also placing for the Lady Owls were sophomore Jami Brandow (75th), senior Samantha Brolaski (78th) and sophomore Hannah Rutherford (106th).

Other place-finishers for the Owls included sophomore Kyle Gabrielson (155th), freshmen Jamie Porter (204th), Xavier Hall (233rd) and Michael Hamilton (236th), and senior Tyler Jones (242nd).

Both William Woods teams compete in the Forest Park Challenge in St. Louis on Friday.
