A Columbia man with several Boone County felony warrants was arrested north of Jefferson City early Thursday morning following a vehicle and on-foot pursuit by a Callaway County Sheriff's deputy, according to a sheriff's office press release.

Bradly David, 47, was driving a red Ford Contour on U.S. Highway 54 near U.S. Highway 63 when a sheriff's deputy attempted to stop David for the violation. David failed to stop and led the deputy on a high-speed vehicle chase that ended on a private driveway off Highway 94, where David jumped from the moving vehicle and fled on foot. The unoccupied vehicle damaged a tree.

The deputy apprehended David on foot and took him into custody, revealing several felony warrants for his arrest on charges of drug trafficking, unlawful use of a firearm and narcotic possessions. The deputy also searched the vehicle and discovered a substance suspected to be methamphetamine.

He is currently being held in the Boone County Jail and faces pending charges in Callaway County for felony resisting arrest, speeding, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, driving while revoked, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a weapon, the release stated.

The Jefferson City Police Department, Missouri Highway Patrol and the Holts Summit Police Department assisted in the pursuit.
