Lady Hornets volleyball team suffers NCMC loss at Hannibal

HANNIBAL - The Fulton Lady Hornets volleyball team slipped to 9-12-1 on the season and 5-4 in the North Central Missouri Conference after Thursday night's 25-15, 25-19 loss to the Hannibal Lady Pirates.

Senior libero Amanda Allison directed Fulton with 10 kills and sophomore outside hitter Kate Pani had four, while senior setter Kenzie Shaw handed out eight assists.

"Hannibal has a tough team and I thought we played them really well," Lady Hornets head coach Megan Youse said. "Our defense played really tough; they have a strong passing offense and I was proud of how we handled it."

Fulton (6-8) dropped the junior varsity match 25-11 and 25-19. Junior outside hitter Sydney Dungan finished with three kills and seven digs, sophomore libero Kyleigh Davis contributed nine digs and junior setter Colleen Van Norman had nine assists.

The Lady Hornets (1-9-1) bowed in the freshman match 25-8 and 25-10. Libero Kristine Malone logged three digs and outside hitter Kaira Jackson had one kill.

Fulton faces Southern Boone to start play in the Versailles Tournament at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
