Work begins on property of future New Bloomfield Dollar General

Jim Shaver motions for a truck to continue backing up on a construction site in New Bloomfield Wednesday. The site, located on the northeast side of Route J, across from Bank Star One and just off the New Bloomfield highway exit, will be the home of a Dollar General this fall. Shaver said he and his crew began filling in the land with dirt this week to build a solid foundation before building construction can start. The 9,000 square-foot store is set to open at the end of September 2015.
